On behalf of President General Bruce Wilcox, I bring you greetings from the National Society Sons of the American Revolution.

We stand today on hallowed ground – the results of a remarkable victory by Patriots from Virginia, the Tennessee territory, North and South Carolina and 30 Georgians.  The victory came just seven weeks after a disastrous defeat at Camden.  The victory here was total and complete and sent a signal to Lord Cornwallis that the Patriotic Spirit still prevailed among those in the backcountry.  Our ancestors showed remarkable determination and courage to take on this formable foe.

We assemble today to show our respects and gratitude to those who put everything on the line so that we may have the freedom that we enjoy today.  Thank you for being here today and helping to keep the dreams of our ancestors alive.  God bless America.
