Fellow Compatriots, and Guests
Our chapter has found a HOME. We are holding our meetings the second
THURSDAY of each (even) month at the
Bennett Place - 4409 Bennett Memorial Rd in Durham (map
below) from 6 PM to 8PM and will be followed by dinner
at the Bennett
Point Grill, located 1 block from the meeting site.
The Bennett
Place (http://www.nchistoricsites.org/bennett/bennett.htm)
is a Civil War Historical Park where Gen Johnston negotiated
the surrender to Gen
Sherman. We hold our meetings in their multimedia room. Every meeting
will have a presentation, as shown
below. It will be undated as more current information is known.
ALL are welcome (non-members and spouses, public etc) to attend.
If you wish to visit, please email the President to ensure seating
for the Bennett Point Grill (reservations), if you plan to attend this portion of our meeting.

- October - 9, 2008 - A presentation on - The Battle at Weitzel's Mill (NEW book, no book has ever been dedicated to this battle)
- December 11, 2008 - Christmas Party - Carolina Club Chapel Hill
- February 12, 2009 - TBD (possible presentation on Bennett Place or Conf. Gen Joseph Johnston and his family tie to the Rev. War)
- April 9, 2009 - A presentation on - Civil War in the American Revolution (Book signing)
