Memorial T-Shirt Depicting Opposing Forces in the
Alamance County Revolutionary War Battles

The Alamance Battleground Chapter of the North Carolina Society of the Sons of the American Revolution has produced a T-Shirt emblazoned with portraits of famous (and not-so-famous) warriors who fought each other in the American Revolutionary War, and in battles which preceded that conflict.

These T-Shirts were produced to raise awareness of historical battles that were fought within Alamance County, North Carolina. Next year, 2006, marks the 225th anniversary of those heroic struggles

T-Shirts are available in sizes S, M, L, and XL. The cost of each T-Shirt is $12.00, and may be purchased from any member of the Alamance Battleground Chapter of the NCSSAR.  If ordered by mail, shipping costs are approximately $4.00 (USPS Priority Mail). To order a T-Shirt, please contact:

The front of the T-Shirt displays a logo designed to commemorate 225 years of patriotism

The back of the T-Shirt provides renditions of noted individuals who have been written about in history books documenting pre-revolutionary and Revolutionary War in North Carolina. In the case of Robert Mebane, these accounts come from actual descendants of men who fought in the historical battle for freedom.  Those who fought for American independence are pictured on the left (Maj. General Nathanael Greene, Lt. Col. "Light Horse" Harry Lee, and Lt. Col. Robert Mebane {for whom the town of Mebane is named}, while British loyalists and officers are pictured on the right (General Charles Cornwallis, Lt. Col. Banastre Tarleton, and Col. David Fanning). All in all, this T-Shirt represents a rich tapestry of a great American heritage.
