Upcoming Events and Activities

February 24 - Battle of Moore’s Creek Bridge Ceremony, Currie NC. This will be the 231st Anniversary Celebration of
the battle. The ceremony will begin with a meeting at Park Headquarters at 9:30 AM, after which participants will be led to the Bridge Monument by the Guilford Fife and Drum Corps. A single wreath will be presented, representing all the patriotic organizations within the region.

March 3 - Board of Managers’ Meeting, Statesville NC

March 17 - Celebration of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse, Greensboro NC. There will be a formal wreath-laying
ceremony at the General Nathanael Greene Monument. Participants will meet at the Visitors’Center at 10:15 AM to form the processional to the ceremony site. A Dutch treat luncheon will follow the wreath laying ceremony.

April 20 – 21 Annual State Convention in Greensboro

July 7 – 11 Annual National Conference will be held in Williamsburg VA

   


 

SAR marker dedicated at the gravesite of American Patriot Jacob Wetzel in a ceremony conducted by members of Blue Ridge Chapter at family cemetery near Brevard, Transylvania County, NC, 21 May 2006.

Four direct descendants of the patriot attended; descendant and SAR compatriot Pat Patterson, Mineral Wells, TX, presented a history of Jacob Wetzel.
