For the benefit of all citizens,

The North Carolina Society is recruiting those of you as may be willing to enter into this HONOURABLE service in support of The Center for Advancing America’s Heritage. The Center will enhance and encourage a better understanding of the Revolutionary War period and development of our Constitutional republic. Just as our patriot ancestors fought for our liberties in the Carolinas 225 years ago, we too are called to carry their fight for freedom and democratic principles forward in our time. We ask for your attendance at upcoming 225th Anniversary Commemorations at Cowpens, Guilford Courthouse and other celebrations of the events of the American Revolution.

The ENCOURAGEMENT at this time is to show your support in writing by completing and returning the SAR Programs Support card, and by making a contribution to the Center. Contributions of all sizes are welcome. ALL chapters of our Society, as well as EACH compatriot is requested to heed the call and participate in this effort.

You will have the opportunity to further the work of your Society well into the 21^st Century. By uniting with fellow compatriots across the SAR, you will enjoy the great advantage of sharing with our nation a more profound appreciation of the unique freedom we enjoy as Americans, won through the sacrifices of our patriot ancestors.

What is the Center for Advancing America’s Heritage?

Simply put, the Center represents the future of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.

The Goal of the Society is to raise $6 million for the Center, of which roughly $3 million is needed to initiate construction of the facility, and $3 million to endow its educational outreach programs.

Construction and operation of the Center will:

Provide a much needed expansion of SAR’s historical and genealogical research capabilities through a larger, modern Library. This will offer increased opportunities for the public and students of history, genealogy, political science and other disciplines to examine significant works, collections and records pertaining to the Revolutionary War period.

Allow the SAR Museum to expand into the space it requires to more fully display its historic collections.

Provide audio visual space and capabilities for quality education programs for teachers and students on Americanism, and promote an understanding of the Revolutionary War period by focusing on the inspiring events associated with the founding of our country.

Enhance educational outreach programs and curriculum regarding the Revolutionary War period via internet, printed material and live and recorded media presentations.

Promote patriotism through educational programs emphasizing the value of unity and an American identity to new Americans and students originally from non-English speaking populations.

Launch and further develop an educational outreach website, and obtain supporting grants and fund professional staff to carry out these new, ambitious outreach programs.

Expand the focus and increase the role of NSSAR in accomplishing the mission of the SAR.
