They did it right for a first-of-its-kind celebration. A 225th Anniversary event normally draws a good crowd, so it was imperative that the planning and execution of this historically significant observance be placed in the right hands - and it was. Chaplain Forrest Chilton of the Gov. Isaac Shelby Chapter, KYSSAR, coordinated the efforts of his home Chapter, State Society, Central District, the city of Maysville, KY, and the Blue Licks Battleground State Resort Park to put on a remarkable show. After all, this was a battle in which the redoubtable Daniel Boone fought as a Patriot, and a celebration where a former Miss America, Heather French Henry, added her support and talents to make the day shine. And then there were the others - the authors, historians, State Society Presidents, and a number of NSSAR General Officers as well as the Executive Director of the NSSAR - in all, a remarkable group of people to gather at the Blue Licks.
