On March 4th, 2006, the North Carolina Society of the Children of the American
Revolution held their 66th Annual State Conference in Winston-Salem, NC, in
conjunction with a Debutante and Patriotic Ball. Honored guests included Mrs.
Jane Barbot, Regent of the NCDAR, Lt.Col. Joe Harris, President, NCSSAR, Dr.
Sam Powell, PhD., Vice President, NCSSAR, Mr. Grady Hall, Immediate Past President,
NCSSAR, Lt.Col. Frank Horton, President, Sons of the Revolution, and members
of the NCSSAR Color Guard. Debutantes were presented to Society, a new slate
of officers was elected and sworn in, awards were presented, and the dance
floor soon became crowded with dancing couples. The Chairwoman of the CAR
Conference, LaDonna Crist, thanks the Patriotic Organizations for their continued
support of the NC CAR. By any measure, it was a successful evening, as can
be seen in the following photographs.
