The North Carolina Society of the Sons of the American Revolution was extremely proud to charter the Colson's Mill Chapter of Stanly County, North Carolina, as the 20th chapter to join The Old North State's ranks of active chapters. In a ceremony that could well serve as the template by which all chartering ceremonies should be conducted, members of the North Carolina societies of the SAR, DAR, and CAR, with old friends and family, met at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on July 14, 2008 to officially recognize this new entity. Officers of the NCSSAR were on hand to officiate during the event, and to pin the SAR Rosette on the lapels of the chapter's new inductees. To top off the evening, a slate of fine officers was sworn in to provide stable leadership in the coming years. They got off to a good start!
