Within the memory of most SAR members, no one remembers it being as warm as it was (69 degrees F.) in January, 2007, the day that the Patriotic Organizations gathered to honor the memory of Daniel Morgan and his victory at the Cowpens. As this is a National Commemoration on the calendar of the SAR, and the largest single victory in the Southern Campaign of the American Revolution, it was a well attended event. Reenactors, Color Guard members, and SAR Compatriots from 8 states and the District of Columbia mixed with the crowd of attendees to celebrate the Patriot's victory in an exuberant display of color, pageantry and dignity.
