July 26, 2008, marked a highpoint in the effort to create an ongoing historical display of the events surrounding the "Race to the Dan" and the "Crossing of the Dan" in February of 1781. Located on the third floor of the Prizery in South Boston, VA, this exhibit interprets a piece of Revolutionary War history that has largely gone unnoticed through the years. In the months previous to the Grand Opening there were other events in 2008 that are covered here as well ...... the creation of an original piece of art by the North Carolinian artist Wayne Feasmster, and the publishing of the book "The Race to the Dan" by author Larry G. Aaron. These gentlemen were both on hand to embellish the Grand Opening Ceremonies. Here, too, were other dignitaries from local, state, and national organizations, all met to mark a signature accomplishment.
