In a tradition that now spans 6 years the Fayetteville Independent Light Infantry (FILI) Company, Le Marquis de Lafayette Chapter, NCSSAR, and the Liberty Point Chapter, NCSDAR, gather together on the Saturday following Flag Day to honorably retire American Flags that are no longer serviceable. This is the proper way to dispose of a U.S. Flag, but all too few people know about it. These groups seek to change that perception.
