October 7th, 2005 was a humid day with intermittent drizzle falling from the sky. Still, that did not deter a large assembly of Patriots and guests from gathering atop King's Mountain to celebrate the victory of a group of heroic Americans who fought fiercely against Col. Patrick Ferguson and his band of Loyalists. At the end of the day, the Patriots were victorious and turned the tide of defeat at the hands of the British.
