February 25th was an overcast day that started out cool but got steadily warmer. Local members of the Cape Fear Historical society mingled with SAR and DAR chapters, as well as groups who represented Loyalist descendants. Moores Creek is different than other SAR wreath laying ceremonies in that only two wreaths are presented - one at the Loyalists Monument and one at the Patriots Monument.
